1. Post & Pay Scale:
1.1. Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secr 19,900-63,200).
1.2. Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5(Rs. 29,200-92,300).
1.3. Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100).

2. Vacancies:
2.1 Tentative vacancies: There are approx. 1600 vacancies. However, firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (https://ssc.nic.in> Candidate’s Corner> Tentative Vacancy) in due course. Candidates may note that State-wise/ Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

4. Age Limit (As on 01-08-2023):
4.1 The crucial date for age reckoning is fixed as 01-08-2023 in accordance with the provisions of DoP&T OM No. 140l7 /70/87-Estt.(RR) dated 14-07-1988. Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1996 and not later than 01-08-2005 are eligible to apply.
4.2 Permissible relaxation in upper age limit for different categories as per extant Rules/ guidelines of Government of India.

5. Essential Educational Qualifications (As on 01-08-2023):
5.1 For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
5.2 For LDC/ JSA and DEO/ DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry mentioned in Para 5.1 above): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
5.3 The candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examination can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualifications on or before the cutoff date i.e. 01-08-2023.

6. How to apply:
6.1 Applications must be submitted in online mode only through the website of SSC Headquarter i.e. https://ssc.nic.in.
6.2 Requirement for online application —- Aadhaar No, 10th details, 10+2 details, scanned recent colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20-50 KB, 3.5cmx4.5cm), signature in JPEG format (10-20 KB, 4cmx2cm).
6.3 Candidates are advised in their own interest to submit online applications as early as possible to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability or failure to login to the SSC website on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days.
6.4. Before submission of the online application, candidates must check through Preview/ Print option that they have filled correct details in each field of the form.
6.5. Application Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only)[Only for General and OBC Male candidates, others are excluded].

7. Indicative Syllabus (Tier-I):
7.1 English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts,
Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

7.2 General Intelligence: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number
Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical
Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Numerical operations, Other sub-topics, if any .
7.3 Quantitative Aptitude:
7.3.1 Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers.
7.3.2 Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation,
Time and distance, Time and work.
7.3.3 Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
7.3.4 Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts:
Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
7.3.5 Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
7.3.6 Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin2𝜃 + Cos2𝜃=1 etc.,
7.3.7 Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart.
7.4 General Awareness: Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries, especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

7.5 For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability, there will be no component of Maps/ Graphs/ Diagrams/ Statistical Data in the General Intelligence and Quantitative Aptitude parts.
